What a GRAND week we had last week as we celebrated Thanksgiving with family and friends cooking (Cherri) and cleaning (Mike and Dara) on Monday then gathering for an early Thanksgiving meal Tuesday night.
Nothing like 3 little boys to keep the energy going all night around Turkey and Dressing and all the accoutrements. We missed Papaw, who had surgery on his hand - and Terri and Gabriel, who had rehearsal and performances, but sent a loaded plate home with Grams for Papaw and got to see Terri and Gabriel on Thursday. Really missed Ryan and Kayleen but glad to hear they are in their home up in North Dakota close to Kayleen's folks.
Chase, Troy and Christie, Fern and JoJon along with Grams and Ty, Dal and Megan and the boys joined Mike and Dara and me for a fun evening of food and fellowship.
Mike, Dara and I had a blast with Ace, Kyle and Aaron Wednesday and Thursday when Ty, Dal, Megan, Terri and Gabriel rejoined us on Thanksgiving Day for leftovers with a roast chicken, corn bread salad added. Megan added a delicious white icing cake to the pies and cookies and the hit was a new recipe for fresh cranberry harvest relish.
The guys spent the afternoon watching football while us gals played games. Dal and Megan headed home with a loaded car of boys and food so that Dal could get to work for the evening. Mike headed over to the Moxleys for a Thanksgiving supper coming back to watch more football with Ty and Gabriel while Terri, Dara and I watched UP - the movie. The first 10 minutes of this cute cute story was very moving. THANK YOU, Terri, for bringing the movie.
Grams and Papaw gave each of us their Christmas picture card with them holding Ace, Kyle and Aaron....already one of my favorite pictures!!!
Terri and Gabriel got to stay the evening heading back fairly early on Friday and all was quiet again at the Moxleys. After an afternoon nap Mike, Dara and I enjoyed a game night with Rick and Cindy and their grandson Steven. Mike was the grand winner of Phooey and we couldnt forget the birthday call to Dal catching him JUST before he went to work. Dal is now 24 growing up fast being a responsible husband and dad.
We are blessed with family and friends and look forward to more good times this holiday season.
